As the Junior HR Specialist you will join an established HR team to particularly support the team in the piloting and maintenance of our HRIS tools and HR Data for both of our Newcastle Upon Tyne and Leamington Spa studios. You will also support our newcomer onboarding experience. You will be required to coordinate with the HR team as well as the Finance, Workplace and Travel teams.

What you will do:

  • You will be responsible for maintaining the HRIS system by adding new starters into the system and updating employee records, ensuring data is accurate and complete;
  • Support with the Timesheet Manager tool: opening new timesheet periods, ensuring that all timesheets have been completed and approved before closure;
  • You will support our new starter process: liaise with the recruitment team to plan onboarding, add new team members onto the systems, coordinate with managers for the induction programme, coordinate with IT to ensure each newcomer has the appropriate equipment setup for working onsite and from home, facilitate payroll set up with finance team, present our HR tools induction training;
  • You will be the first point of contact for HR system queries or training and coordinate with internal IT team for any technical issues;
  • Generate reports from both tools when required;
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement with the HR systems;
  • Maintain the absences tracker and help with tracking overtime as per the policy;
  • Provide additional administrative support required by HR Manager and HR team;
  • Support the HR team with any ad-hoc projects.


What you will bring:

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information is essential;
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong interest in process improvement - you love finding ways to make processes more efficient and streamlined;
  • Highly tech-savvy with an appreciation for privacy and security
  • Comfortable working with databases and reporting tools;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word;
  • Strong collaboration mindset;
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an HR department would be desirable;
  • Previous experience of an HRIS system is desirable but not mandatory.
